What is a high-brightness window display?

A high-brightness window display is a commercial screen built to face the street through glass. It is several times brighter than an indoor TV or monitor, so the picture stays clear in direct sunlight, and it is designed to run for long hours. Double-sided models show content to passers-by on one side and to customers inside on the other.

Where window displays work best

Estate agents

Show far more listings than paper cards and change prices or add new instructions from the office.

Currency exchanges

Keep buy and sell rates in the window up to date automatically from your rate feed.

Shops and retail

Promote offers, new ranges and seasonal campaigns to people walking past, even after closing.

Salons and services

Show treatments, prices and before-and-after images to draw people in from the street.

Installed and supported

We help with surveying the window, fitting the screens and setting up your first content.

How to choose the right window display

  1. 1Check which way the window faces. South and west-facing glass gets the most sun and needs the brightest screens.
  2. 2Decide whether you need one side (street only) or two sides (street and in-store).
  3. 3Measure the window and viewing distance so the screen size suits people reading it from the pavement.
  4. 4Plan how content will be updated. Cloud software lets you change every window from one place.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a normal TV in my shop window?

Consumer TVs are not designed for direct sunlight or long daily running hours, so they usually look washed out behind glass and can overheat. A purpose-built high-brightness window display stays readable and is made for commercial use.

Do window displays work at night?

Yes. Most businesses schedule displays to stay on into the evening when people are still walking past, then switch off automatically overnight. Brightness can also be lowered after dark.

How do I update what is on the screen?

You update content from SignageTec cloud software in a web browser. Changes reach the screen over the internet, so you can update one window or every branch at once.

Can you install the displays for us?

Yes. We can advise on the right screen for your window, supply the display and mounting, and arrange installation and set-up.
